SUPPLYING A DIGITAL DOCUMENT FOR SCREEN PRINTING

Documents created on an Apple Macintosh computer

The files must be created using Adobe Illustrator software - up to version CS3.

Documents must be supplied in PDF, AI or EPS format. Any other format creates problems. We must be able to process the files with respect to alignment, positioning, colour separation, etc.

Convert the fonts you have used into letter contours so that we can open the document even if the fonts you have applied to the document are not installed on our computers.

Documents created on a PC

The files may be supplied in one of the following formats:

WMF, EPS, CDR, BMP, JPG, GIF, TIF, PSD. However, please supply multi-coloured documents in EPS format since we must be able to process the files with respect to alignment, positioning, colour separation, etc.

Documents created using CorelDraw software (up to Graphic Suite version X3) are also possible.

Please convert the fonts you have used to letter contours or supply the TrueType font files with the delivery for one-time use. (Not all of the fonts applied are installed on our computers.)

General

Please take into account that bitmap files must have a high resolution in order to remain sharp when printed. Colour separations cannot be prepared for bitmap files which are to be line printed. (In other words, please only use BMP, JPG files, etc., for 1-colour printing!).

Do not incorporate any photos or images you have scanned into the artwork. This may only be done for full-colour (4-colour) printing. If screens are used in your artwork, you must supply us with ready-to-print lithos. Screen printing screen 18 and the right position is 21°. Please consult us in advance about this.

Pantone Matching System ® (PMS) - always send the right PMS colour codes with the materials.

Supply a colour proof in the form of a colour laser print or a PDF file. In converting your files for use with our graphic software, errors can occur in outlines, fonts and colours, for example. (Without a colour proof, we cannot evaluate the files you send for accuracy, and we are not liable for possible variations in the printwork.)

Please always send a proposal for positioning and dimensions for the print work.

In many cases, we can modify documents that are not supplied in a usable form by manually manipulating the materials. The costs for this DTP work are € 85 per hour, in addition to the normal film and screen costs.
